Lip Treatments

As we age, we naturally lose collagen, elasticity and volume.  This leads to thinness and contribute to aging of the face, including the lips.  There are various Lip treatments to rejuvenate, hydrate and replace that lost collagen.  Learn more with us.

Lip Filler

Dermal fillers used for Lip Injections at La Déesse Clinic are carefully selected for their high quality hyaluronic acid based content with minimal swelling post treatment.  When injected, we can add volume and fullness for enhancement according to each individual's desired look.

Patients looking to have lip filler treatments commonly have dehydrated, disproportionate, or thinner lip profile.  A well done Lip enhancement provided by a trained experienced medical professional can offer the added benefit of looking much younger with fuller balanced volume, hydration and rejuvenation while still ensuring that your natural look is still retained.

What is the recovery time?

Mild swelling, redness and soreness are expected in the period immediately after the treatment, and typically last between 12-24 hours post-treatment. We recommend keep the tissue clean and placing ice packs on the affected area to help relieve any swelling. Mild bruising may occur from the needle punctures, but these should disappear within one week.  We recommend avoiding the consumption of alcohol, aspirin, vitamin E and blood-thinners for a few days both before and after the treatment to mitigate these risks.

For peace of mind, all our patents are encouraged to come in for a follow up visit for a post-treatment reassessment by Nurse Monica.

How long does the Lip Filler last?

Lip fillers typically last 6 to 12 months. However, it depends on your age and how fast your body breaks down calories into energy (metabolism). Younger people tend to burn calories faster, so lip fillers don’t last as long.

How does Fotona Liplase™ Laser Lip Plumping compare with Lip Fillers?

Fotona LipLase™ is a non-intrusive procedure that gives the patient plumper, velvety lips with a laser as an alternative to injectables. The treatment gives you results that are more natural and softer as the collagen in your lips is encouraged and revived.

Lip fillers work with a solution being injected into your lips and the results are instantaneous as the lips immediately feel and look much plumper and fuller. However, the filler tends to break down over time and is metabolised by the body. Due to this, the results only last for up to four to six months and require maintenance sessions. Many patients rave about their results from the fillers, but find it tedious and expensive to keep up with the maintenance.

Fotona LipLase, on the other hand, takes a different route. Rather than injecting a solution into the skin, the laser is utilised to encourage and boost the natural collagen production of the body. Results after the laser treatment session are visible but they are not as pronounced as the results after a lip filler session. However, over the course of four to six months, patients will notice their lips appearing softer, lighter, and plumper.

While there are patients who love fillers and the immediate results they give, Fotona LipLase is a safer, non-invasive, natural alternative for those who would like fuller, smoother lips without the need for needles.

When can I see results? How many sessions are required?

For most patients, results can be seen immediately after the first session. Each treatment lasts 15 minutes. For best results, we recommend 6 sessions, where the first 3 sessions are spaced 2 weeks apart, and the other 3 at an interval of one month apart as maintenance. Results can last up to 12 months.

Recovery Time & Post-Procedure Care

Immediately after the treatment, the lips will appear swollen as the laser will cause some swelling. This usually resolves within a couple of hours. There will be a slight superficial peeling on the 2nd to 3rd day. After the treatment, patients will be able to resume their daily activities immediately as there is no downtime. In the aftercare, we advise using SPF 50 lip balm or skin moisturiser and no lipstick should be worn for the next 24 hours. Do not consume spicy food or extremely hot liquids for 3 days. Avoid sports activities or swimming pools and the sun after the procedure.
